Divine Mother Monthly Guidance: May 2010 In the April 2010 guidance, posted on this site and emailed on April 1, Divine Mother said, “There will be many more changes in the lives of people around the world now. It is important to look forward to change, and not resist it, because change overthrows negativity in the end. This isn’t Obama change. This is earth changing. The result now is an upside down positioning for a lot of people before turning around right side up again.” This time is like “a layer of soil being raked away in order to expose what is not working,” so it can be repaired, and this analogy comes with the reminder “that if people don’t rake their own soil, the universe will rake it for them. So don’t hide your head in the sand. Take responsibility for your lives. Planned or anticipated actions may need revising in some instances, so be flexible. … Change is always coming but never more so than now.” To Her point, from the time of the posting/emailing on April 1 to today, May 9, 2010, Mother’s Day, there was a 7.2 earthquake in Baja California on Easter Sunday, April 4 and others later around the world, including a 7.4 just this morning in Indonesia; the volcano in Iceland erupted, severely skewing travel for thousands and costing billions; the Arizona immigration law was signed; the oil rig explosion and oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico; there was near-bankruptcy and chaos in Greece, deadly tornadoes in Mississippi, historic and deadly floods in Tennessee, the worst US mining disaster in decades in West Virginia, the car bomb in Times Square, a pipe break in Massachusetts rendering water undrinkable for 2 million people, a freefall stock market resulting in a trillion dollar loss equivalent to all the gains made since January, and unemployment is now a hair under 10%. All that and more in only five weeks. For the May 2010 guidance, Divine Mother says, “The earth changing is a call for help. The earth changing requires your loving attention in answer to its call for help. There was so much fear before (last year), indiscriminate love would have been wasteful. That is why you were advised then not to squander love. But the times now call for inordinate love. Now is the time to splurge on love and this is why: you cannot be in love and fear at the same time; therefore, when you answer with love, fear cannot exist. Love is the answer to every situation you are in. If you can greet the situation with love, intentionally answering it with love, you will have conquered fear. The response you decide on is a decision that changes everything. Intentional, focused, purposeful love causes benefits to come forward on the earth-changing plane. Love is the answer to all that matters. Love is all that matters. Love is the light answering you.”
Divine Mother Monthly Guidance: April 2010 ~ Purpose in Change So many people have been hit, and hit hard, emotionally, financially, physically and/or psychologically in this period of transition, it is good to remember there is purpose in it. Divine Mother says: “There will be many more changes in the lives of people around the world now. It’s a time for flexibility, adaptability, the yoga of a lifetime: stretching, bending, reaching, growing. It’s all a good thing. Changes in your lifestyle are ultimately for the better. Just as a body removes toxins, etc. through yoga, it’s a lifetime that is being cleansed at this time. Embrace it. Holding on for dear life is rigid, structural living and it will not work.” Divine Mother continues: “Change is always coming but never more so than now. Change throttles some engines that can’t respond well, but encourages others to speed along the path they are on, so it’s a mixed blessing all around and can be turnaround time for people who need turning around in their lives. Remember the motto: do what you can where you are with what you have now, planning always for future adaptability, She concludes: “Don’t hesitate to change. Embrace change as a God-send you will benefit from in time. Remember that always: a God-send. It’s about floating on the water with all going on underground, underneath the water. It’s rising to the top and swimming away into peace, happiness, life’s abundance of joy about which you can do nothing but go with the flow of water. It carries you safely to the shore of new prosperity, new beginnings, new hopefulness, new encouragement, new validity and faith.” Divine Mother Monthly Guidance February 2010 ~ Transformation A friend recently sent me a story about a stress management seminar. The lecturer raised a glass of water and asked those assembled, “How heavy is this glass of water?” There were varying estimates, but the lecturer said, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance. The longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. And it’s the same with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.” That is stress management. Divine Mother is stress alleviation. Rather than having a rest so “we can carry on with the burden,” we take it to Divine Mother so we don’t have to carry it at all. As our spiritual partner, She has the answers and solutions, the pair of glasses when we can’t see a way ahead, the GPS when we are lost in our own life, and above all the sense of humor when we can’t see the funny side of anything about this burden--Her humorous take on it can knock out the stress we have attached to it as fast as a bolt of lightening hits a tree. And it is “lightening” that occurs with Divine Mother in Divine Meditation. The light itself is inherent in Her and in what we are experiencing with Her through the words She speaks telepathically or writes in light on the dark screen of our mind, through the images She creates, through those She brings in to the meditation to assist us, or through scenes that run like movies to instruct us. In these ways, the light changes our perceptions about ourselves and about the burden. The light transforms US and in transforming us, our energy is transformed. Transforming our energy transforms the energy around the burden, shedding so much light on its cause, purpose and solution that it either instantly sheds its weight, disappears altogether, has a ready fix through ways She makes known to us, or it is no longer viewed as a burden at all, but as something we can confidently handle. There is something very beautiful that also happens in Divine Meditation and that is reciprocal acceptance and understanding. Divine Mother compassionately, lovingly accepts and understands us as we are, while the action of Her light simultaneously allows us to accept and understand Her. It is this reciprocity of acceptance and understanding that allows transformation to take place. It is, in fact, exactly how transformation works. Divine Mother Monthly Guidance January 2010 ~ The Way Forward A reminder first of the guidance from a year ago, January 2009: "Even though there will be hardship until the end of 2009, the good news is that the illusions which have pervaded our lives and our country and our world are being profoundly uprooted and replaced with truth during this period.” At the time of that writing, we were in financial freefall with the worst to come in March and hope of stabilization now, January 2010, seemed impossibly optimistic guidance from Divine Mother but it has happened. Divine Mother's emphasis all last year on the necessity for spiritual growth has not altered now: "For a few years to come, the status quo remains. And the importance of spiritual development retains its status of number one priority. Success is monumental when it occurs internally. External success is only by the world’s standards. Be successful internally and divinity awaits you forever and ever. Amen. “ Divine Mother also says the words below, attributed to Mother Teresa, are to be “shared today and every day. It’s a perspective that matters to your heart’s desires, to granting peace of mind in all matters, and to bringing freedom, liberation, and contentment to your life now. It is simple to follow and the impact of the last two sentences is intense when you understand it fully. Rejoice that it is also a way forward in this lifetime, in this decade and in this New Year of 2010. Amen.” From Mother Teresa: People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, people may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough; give the best anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. Monthly Guidance for December 2009 In these current economic times, a number of requests have come in regarding ways to facilitate change at little or no cost. The ways noted below are not a substitute for Divine Mother, the ultimate source of change, but they are empowering. Some work on a subconscious level and, once put in place, continue to work on our behalf whether we are paying attention to them or not…part of our mind will always know they are there, and that part of our mind will assist in recreating them in other forms in our lives. Also, since everything in the universe is based on the law of cause and effect, each one is a positive cause and will produce positive effects. The most important action to take is to 1) put yourself in protective light and 2) protect the light protecting you—every day. It may take a little practice, but close your eyes, thank Divine Mother for putting you in Her holy protective light…and see yourself being completely covered in golden light. Thank Her next for protecting the light protecting you so that nothing negative can enter in, now or ever, Amen…and see the golden light and you in that light completely covered in solid gold. Loved ones or anyone in need of protection can be included with you at the same time or you can do them separately. Using the exact same sequence, you can also visualize golden light in every room of your home or office, in and around your car and/or anything else you really care about. Lighten up – literally. 1) Lit candles are living light and so are you. You can use them to strengthen your connection with the Light and for additional, specific purposes. The color of the candles matters--gold symbolizes enlightenment and protection, blue is for peace, peach is for health, brown is for prosperity and abundance from the earth, pink is for tender self-love and love for others, while white is purifying, orange is cleansing, red is energizing, green is growth, and yellow is the intellect and happiness. Candles are most safe burning in very tall glass containers to prevent fire and they can burn all night in the same containers in the bathtub, as long as there are no shower curtains, overhanging towels, etc. Walking by the bathroom at night will make you smile--the whole tub glows, silently reminding you that the color and light are at work. You can also use white candles in colored glass containers. 2) Rechargeable, battery-operated, or electric candles and/or small lamps are good too. Put them in your bedroom and go to sleep in peace, comforted in the knowledge that the Light is with you. 3) Small, white Christmas lights are excellent for year-round use. Christmas lights and candles generally go on sale for half price immediately after Christmas. Because they can, however rarely, be defective and start a fire, I only use them outside where I can see them from inside and I only put them on when I am home. Create an altar if you haven’t yet, a clean, dedicated space with candles, fresh flowers and especially greenery. Evergreen in a vase is excellent because it means never-ending--in this case ever-lasting faith—and it represents the eternals: eternal love, eternal life, eternal light. Altar is also a significant pun on the word alter – an altar is created in order to alter your life, to change your life. Place on the altar a list of what you need changed. Even if you never pray at this altar, though I hope you do, just seeing it even out of the corner of your eye every day will reinforce your willingness for greater faith and change, and the certain knowledge that you have done something to bring it into your life. Lastly, always pray on your knees. The knees are a fear center and when you kneel, you are literally letting go of fear. Whenever you see a coin on the ground, pick it up. Pennies, dimes and quarters are of course change, but they also symbolize change itself, and picking them up reinforces your willingness to have your life change. Coins also symbolize money in general, so pick them up to underscore your willingness to receive money in your life. Write on separate note cards whatever it is you would welcome in your life – faith, money, love, job, companionship, etc. – and then tape each one above your front door as a sign to the universe that you are welcoming these things into your life. You can also tape an actual dollar bill or 5 dollar bill or whatever denomination above your door. Again, even if you never notice it, your subconscious mind WILL see it, act on it and produce it. Connect with nature. Flowers are alive. Plants are alive. Trees are alive. Trees are our ancient, healing friends and have been with us forever as strong, graceful reminders of our own strength and grace. Connecting with flowers or plants or trees is connecting with the vital life force that equally exists in all of us and the result is revitalization, restoration and calm Monthly Guidance for November 2009 ~ Forgiveness Divine Mother says: "The ocean of doubt, despair, debt and depression over the last year is based on fear and you need to forgive yourself for any fear, doubt, despair, debt and/or depression you may have experienced or may still be experiencing. You have chosen a path as a country, and as a planet, to develop yourselves inwardly now. This requires forgiveness on a planetary, countrywide basis, but it begins with forgiving yourself to reveal your own inner soul strength. We have organized pathways of forgiveness for each one’s life, so prepare yourselves for forgiveness which will reveal radiance and peace again." "Criticism of another country or another person results in the loss of self-love. And self-criticism in particular is a cancer that denies your own spirit. Judgments of any kind are unnecessary and even harmful, affecting spiritual, emotional, mental, psychological and physical health. Any error in your life or in your thinking only needs correction, never criticism." "So prepare yourselves for forgiveness and use understanding instead from now on. Understanding relieves criticism, and the prevailing attitudes of peace will conclude in love for one another. Forgiveness and understanding automatically result in honoring yourselves and honoring others. Honor in turn results in hope and hope results in the positive energy you seek." Monthly Guidance for September/October 2009 ~ Dreams There is substantial information about Divine Mother and dreams in my book “Meet Divine Mother” because dreams are one of the ways Divine Mother communicates with us. Warning dreams and prophetic dreams are particularly packed with needed information in order to protect us. An example we can all relate to, as you will see, came in two dreams I had last year, one week apart. As always, I wrote them down: May 26, 2008 The dream was in three scenes 1) It was a very tranquil, sunny day. I was walking on a grassy area when I noticed water coming up, seeping up, out of the ground. I thought, “This isn’t right.” 2) There was a pool of water, but suddenly it was more than a pool and it was overflowing. There was something in place to stop the water coming over but it was going to come over anyway, the water was so powerful. 3) I was in the water but got myself out very quickly. The second dream, June 2, 2008, woke me up twice. It was night. I had been walking again and left a shopping cart on the path. Figured I would come back for it. My son was with me, we both looked up and saw something coming up on the horizon, some kind of light, but it was a signal, a warning that something was going to happen. We were then walking on a grassy area, like the other dream with the water, and it led to a house where there was a small room with limits. We went into the room and I said to my son, “This isn’t right.” [the exact same thing I had said in the first dream]. I noticed one wall where some things were hanging very high near the ceiling. I said, “Something is wrong.” Then I saw one of the things move and shimmer. It was gold and like a lampshade. I told my son, “That’s what is wrong--take it down!” He did, and that was the solution. We had to get out of there and we did. Lots of people were getting out. These dreams were very disturbing because of the elements of danger, so I asked Divine Mother directly about them in Divine Meditation. She confirmed something was about to happen (“on the horizon” in the dream means imminent), it could not be prevented (the water in the dream was unstoppable), thousands of people would be hurt, people would be evacuated (getting out of the water and out of the house in the dreams) and there would be misery around me. I started watching the news then, on the lookout for this event that would affect so many. Almost immediately there was the 500 year flood in Iowa and Missouri with people leaving their homes, but that did not touch anyone in my environment as Divine Mother had said the event would…and then it came…the bottom started falling out of the stock market, the credit crunch occurred, gas went to $4 a gallon, the economy began to evaporate and worsened as each month went by. Like the water in the first dream, it was seeping from the ground up with the subprime mortgages, affecting home and land values everywhere until many were “under water”, owing more on their mortgages than their homes were worth, many had to evacuate (leave their homes and apartments, for sale signs and for rent signs suddenly popping up everywhere), many were under water with credit card debt, and many were without a source of income when jobs evaporated too. Water also means illusion--the country and the world lost its illusion that we were on solid financial ground; the bursting housing, stock and job market bubble made that abundantly clear. Water means emotion too, and there were neighbors here literally in tears as there were people around the world in despair over their sudden financial losses. The solution in the dream, as in life, was simple: take down gold (money) from its high (ceiling) place in society. Money itself is not bad but anything is harmful when it covers our light (it was in the form of a lampshade in the dream and a lampshade covers light). The room where the gold lampshade was located had limits, which means 1) there is room for spending limits and 2) there was a limit in terms of how far this whole thing could go before it hit the ceiling (ceiling being the limit that resulted in economic collapse once it was reached). A limit was in place in the water dream, too, ultimately breached by the sheer power of the water. Lastly, the detail in the second dream of leaving the shopping cart behind on the path seemed completely out of place at the time, but has proven exceedingly accurate. Not only have most of us left buying a house or car or stock or even the same weekly amount of groceries behind, it was shopping for more and more that precipitated the collapse in the first place. The placement of the shopping cart at the very beginning of the dream confirms that. Monthly Guidance for August 2009 ~ A Time for Stewardship Divine Mother says: “Stewardship is the garnering of resources from money, houses, and cars to appropriateness, politeness, manners, intelligence. It is the harvesting of the riches of the earth, like natural resources. Money is a natural resource that needs stewardship given to it above all else. Deposits of money, like deposits of gold in the earth, need to be protected, honored, cherished, and reserved for need only.” “In this time [frame], the ownership of resources requires stewardship in the broadest sense of the word. It is ok to spend money on necessities and some luxuries, but conservation of resources around the world at this time is right and correct. The granting of a gift to someone or to one’s self now and again is fine, but resources allocated elsewhere need to be preserved, honored, maintained and sustained this time around. So even though things are improving economically, it is not the time to spend money, I assure you of that. Economic stability starts now, but results in economic downturn if stewardship is turned away from now.” “So do not squander love or money. Don’t be lured into opportunistic spending of love or money you don’t have. Stewardship is the key, maintaining, sustaining what you already have/own at this moment. That means love for family and those around you, and the financial resources you have now. It is exactly money and love together at this time and the stewardship of both.” I looked up the word “garner” in the dictionary because Divine Mother is always very precise in Her choice of words. Garner means to gather, but it also means to deposit, the exact word She goes on to use later in the same paragraph. It reminded me that we are depositories ourselves. Certain amounts of money, certain responsibilities, and certain personal and spiritual abilities have been deposited with and within us. This is why Divine Mother concludes the guidance for this month by saying that as we focus on protecting and sustaining love and money in our lives, “This is also the time for the harvesting of resources internally that have yet to be tapped and honored.” July 2009 ~ Freedom Divine Mother says: “Please be advised the monthly guidance for July is freedom.” “That oppression exists anywhere in the world is intolerable and unacceptable. The most you could do to advent freedom in your world is (to have) freedom to think unfettered by media or any distractions at all. The truth, beauty and wisdom of the universe come rushing in when the world is obliterated from your mind. The long grasses, the ocean shoreline, the mountains’ greenery, the desert flowers are blooming with love and light all around for you to see, cherish, enjoy and commune with. This is reality. This is the truth. This is the beauty you all seek. It is right here in Divine Meditation too.” “The peace of the universe is freedom. Peace of mind is freedom. There is no other freedom in this world. But there can be increased freedom in all people, for all people, by the people if they could/would transform their thinking to the Divine, and leave behind the world’s worries and concerns and enter into a state of higher consciousness where love, light and divinity are freedom…flowing freedom…at the cost of nothing…it is free. This freedom of all freedoms is free.” “So don’t worry about the world, take time every day to escape the world plane/existence and come into Divine Meditation where freedom truly exists.” June 2009 ~ A Way to Heal We all have certain things in our past we cannot alter, but wish we could. They come to mind from time to time in the form of a memory of something we have done to others or to ourselves, or they are memories of things done to us. In many instances the time is long gone for a person-to-person resolution…a parent who caused pain may have died or become unavailable…a lost love may have no awareness of the hurt that continues for us…we may have done something we are ashamed of and even though no one knows about it, the guilt persists…we may have been alone or just felt alone at a time when we needed help but no one came to our aid…and so on. The memory can be mighty in its scope or the most insignificant event that somehow still deeply impacted us and impacts us still. Large or small, there is an emotion of some kind attached to the memory and returns, knocking at the door of our mind for recognition and resolution. We would gladly offer the recognition and resolution the memory seeks, but most often we don’t know how. We don’t know how to change the unalterable. But there is a way. Anything that occurred at any time in the external world can be transformed internally. Divine Mother is the Great Healer and, if we are willing, She can create internal, emotional change in a heartbeat during Divine Meditation or, as sometimes happens, She can equally guide us to other, extremely effective ways. The way She had me experience years ago occurred during meditation with Her. I saw this poor little girl, me, who had been so badly hurt…but as the adult me seeing the child me in Divine Meditation, I spontaneously felt so much love and compassion for her that I instantly put my arms around her and said I was so, so sorry this had ever happened to her. That was honestly enough. My own recognition of her pain and my genuine, loving compassion in response so many years later were deeply needed to heal her and they did. Doing this with whatever memory surfaces really works. We can go into Divine Meditation, love our own self at any point in time when we were the one hurt, and in the process free ourselves from pain and anger. Equally, we can go into Divine Meditation and give love and compassion to our own self for hurting anyone in the past and thus free ourselves from guilt. (We do not need to ask forgiveness from anyone else involved because we are healing the person we were then who just didn’t know better than to hurt someone else.) Once the love has been offered to our own self, the memory disappears. It has served its function of drawing our attention to a need for love and is no longer necessary. We all have the love inside of us necessary to heal internally in Divine Meditation. It is a simple, quick process, and the result is transformational: it makes being at ease in our own skin not just a possibility, but a very comfortable reality. May 2009 ~ Divine Mother’s gift to you for Mother’s Day: Fearlessness With economic problems, nuclear threat, pandemics, natural disasters, personal problems and substantial disruptions to what was normal until recently, fear is pervasive. Just coming into contact with people voicing their concerns can make fear as contagious as a virus and equally debilitating, so it is more vital than ever to move out of fear. As Divine Mother said for this month’s guidance: “Fearlessness now is an essential aspect of the new change, the transformational change.” Since everything is cause and effect, remember fear is the effect caused by a negative thought. Fear comes when we think we don’t have control over something or don’t know how to handle it and subsequently don’t know what action to take. Enter Divine Mother. She will always tell us exactly what to do and in the process instantly change our minds from fear to peace. Because the mind cannot hold two directly opposed thoughts at the same time, fear cannot exist in a state of peace. Divine Mother also said for this month, “It takes steadfast knowledge to understand that what is happening is indeed happening for a karmic reason. It takes acceptance and good will toward others as well as yourself to know fearlessness.” Divine Mother always gives us knowledge, which, like a domino effect, results first in understanding, then acceptance, followed by good will toward others and ourselves, and ends ultimately in a state of fearlessness. Whether the fear is our own or in the air from others, love is another antidote to fear and last weekend Divine Mother led me to a way love can be accessed anytime. It began with a thought from Her, in the midst of my working on multiple, stressful projects, and the thought would not go away…is there a photograph of my grandmother holding me when I was a baby? I didn’t know. The thought became so insistent I finally had to stop everything and get out the albums and boxes of old photographs. I then spent hours and hours in the most meaningful memories, being infused in the present with pure love from the past with my grandparents. Grandpa and me in the garden, Grandma hanging clothes on the line, the sunlight dappling through the leaves of the walnut tree, just there where the apricots grew, birthdays with special cakes and Easter dinners with hot rolls and pickle trays, going through every room in my dollhouse, a Christmas present, as I went through every room of my grandparent’s house and every bit of the front and back yards, with the pictures and without them. My grandparents passed away decades ago, but this was a two-way flow of love in real time, a double dosing of love, from them to me and me to them. I was so involved in it I didn’t realize what had happened until I stepped away--happy and fulfilled, high and expanded, at peace. It was transformational. Spending time in pure love is transformational. I never did find a photo of my grandmother holding me as a baby but that wasn’t the point, it was a pointer, directing me to this transformational experience, moving out of the stress of work, which is a form of fear--will I ever get this all done?--into an elevated state of love that totally removed the stress. And it was not just for me. It is for you too. When so many people are gripped by fearful concerns just now and may not be able to provide pure love in the here and now, or if there is no one around when that love is needed, we all have access to the great personal reservoir of our memories. Pick the person(s) and/or a place you loved, get out the photos, put on television programs or music popular at the time, prepare a special meal that was comforting in this loving period of your life, and spend real time in your mind reliving memories of people who loved you and where you were loved. This is daydreaming and recreating at its purposeful best. It is not escape. It is not illusion. It is reunion, because the love is as real now as it was then; it never dies, it never changes…and it is all for you. Then, renewed with that love, you can re-enter the world refreshed and revitalized. The love you bring back is much in need. It is imbued with good will. Having received it in such abundant portions, you will be able to give it generously. And there will be no fear. April 2009 For most of us, there is a defining event or situation in childhood that affected us so deeply it altered our sense of innocence and self. It could be parents divorcing, an illness, the death of a loved one, abuse, incest, a move, something so personally impacting we were not the same again. That is the advent of negative karma. It is ‘the’ lesson of this lifetime and actually has come to awaken us to greater insight, knowledge and happiness. It is a blessing in disguise or, as Divine Mother calls it, “a mask that hides eternal truths.” Let me explain what She means. In my mid-20’s and on negative karma overload, I read Edgar Cayce and “The Story of Karma,” in order to begin to understand the law of cause and effect. The definition of karma as stumbling blocks that can be turned into stepping stones was very encouraging, but learning that every ‘jot and title’, every whit and spec of karma neatly recorded by the universe in the skein of time and space, “must be met” was upsetting…I had met enough already to know I didn’t particularly want to make the acquaintance of any more. I also did not want to spend future lifetimes dealing with the mistakes of past lifetimes. There had to be a way of isolating all negative karma and resolving it in this one lifetime so that multiple future lives “meeting” unwelcome events and situations would not be necessary. If you’ve read my book, you know the way to dissolve negative karma came with and through Divine Mother. We don’t need to access hundreds of past lives in this lifetime to do it. We only need to access enough lifetimes, internally, with Divine Mother, to see the patterns of thinking and behaving we ourselves created and acted on in subsequent lifetimes. Once we recognize the recurring themes, we are ready to receive a real answer to the question “How do I change this?” And She will tell us by taking us back to the original error, the lifetime in which the mistake was first made. It is there, to our utter joy and relief, we find the error did not come from some evil part of ourselves but from a mistake in perception. That’s all. We didn’t understand something correctly and acted on it. In subsequent lifetimes the mistake appeared as negative karma so we could correct it, but still believing it, we acted on it again, thus compounding the karma … and so it goes until the critical moment when it is impossible to tolerate not knowing the solution. In that moment the willingness is born to face it and understand it, which is to say, ‘meet it’ internally. And when we do meet it internally with Divine Mother, the original cause, that mistake in perception, is seen as the mere illusion it is, something not real at all. This knowledge is experienced with Her in such a kind and understanding way that we too have kindness and understanding toward ourselves, the mask of karma is lifted, and in its place, untouched, is our own immutable innocence, the very innocence with which we began this life, the very innocence with which we were created. Divine Mother said for this guidance, “You will never know the answer unless you try to understand karma as illusion, beneath which beats the true heart of life—loving, flowing, unerring devotion.” We can continue to avoid knowing the cause of negative karma and continue suffering, that is an option, but why would we when correcting the root of it, the original cause of it, removes all negative karma for all time--past, present and future--and results in our complete freedom here and now? March 2009 The Itty Bitty Kitty A few years ago I returned from a winter trip and saw a tiny feral kitten under my balcony. It was too scared to come to me, escaping into an air vent the second I took a step closer, its big green eyes then staring at me out of the darkness. I brought down food and water and talked to it, but it would not come out to eat and drink until I left. This continued morning after morning, evening after evening, rainstorm after rainstorm. While I had everything inside to keep it safe, warm, dry and fed forever, it was too frightened to budge.
My monologues to coax the kitty out started with a few kind words but did little good and soon escalated into elaborate detail: “If you will just let me take you, I can give you such a warm place to live…there is a whole family waiting for you inside…there is a cat friend to play with who likes it so much she has stayed for years…a beautiful dog who adores kitties and will protect you…all the food you could want…a feather bed instead of all this wet dirt…complete security 24/7…hugs and kisses all the time…and $20 spending money…a little kitty allowance…I can give you everything…if you will just let me.” No dice. The big green eyes blinked and retreated into the darkness with my even trying to move an inch closer. One day the sun was out. I was crouching down under the low balcony with food and water, rehearsing my kitty spiel, and suddenly thought, oh, this is just like Divine Mother and us…we’re scared to death and retreat into our holes, hiding, too afraid to come out…too afraid to meet Divine Mother, to let Her touch our lives, when She can give us everything if we let Her. I began my monologue and the kitty was definitely listening, so I dared to make a move, but it spit at me, a spit so loud and scary, especially from such a tiny little thing, that I jumped back stunned and thought, jeepers, maybe this kitty is too wild…maybe bringing it in is not a good idea. I walked away then, but felt bad for it, looked back, and saw that the kitty had not only come out from under the balcony – it was twirling and dancing in the light. That was its real nature! I resolved then, no matter what, this kitty would be brought to safety. I continued to be patient for what turned out to be four very long weeks. At that point the kitty was exhausted from the stress of its conditions, defending itself again other critters at night, and whether it was kitty telepathy or its body language, I could hear it say, “I can’t go on. But it’s not in me to give up. You’ll just have to take me." That was the moment of surrender. Just a little willingness. And that was all I needed. That is all any of us need. Within seconds I had swooped the little thing into my arms and carried it into its new life. Now, the new life initially turned out to be two weeks under my bed because it was too afraid to come out of there too. At first I placed the food and water under the bed, and then gradually moved it out little by little into the bedroom…and the kitty followed. I would sit on the floor and tell it the other cat and dog were just in the other room, eager to play, I tossed little toy balls back and forth, but if I tried to reach for her, she fled under the bed deep into the darkness and sat, I could see, on one of my books, “Your Healing Hands.” It wasn’t hard to understand what the kitty and the universe were telling me through the symbolism of the title, so I literally started just resting my hands on the carpet under the bed. They didn’t reach for the kitty or make sudden moves; they were simply and harmlessly at rest. This absolutely worked. The kind, unthreatening hands threw little colored balls on the carpet and the kitty could not resist staying out longer and longer to chase them. Soon, enough trust was developed that the kitty came out one day and brushed against my legs, over and over. I slowly reached for it then and it let me hold it in my arms. Except for the swift move to take it inside from under the balcony, it had never been held before, it had never been held in calm, loving, safe arms, and if a kitty can express bliss, this kitty did. In retrospect, this too is Divine Mother. She is here, She is still, She doesn’t take action until there is trust and then She wraps us up in Her calm, loving, safe arms. The kitty turned out to be a girl and she has grown into a fine cat indeed. All her needs are met and she has everything she could possibly want, from love and security to the promised feather bed. A wise little girl, she spends her allowance on catnip and leaves any vet bills to me. When she plays, there is no fear at all. That was a meaningful observation, one to translate into our own lives: when we are in the moment, and especially at play, there really is no fear.
So, if you are thinking about coming in from the cold, you might want to set your fear aside a moment, open the door and come in. After all, we were all born to dance in the light. We were all born to be protected and loved. February, 2009 Acceptance is the Key Divine Mother wants you to know that, despite appearances to the contrary, all continues to be well. She also says it is important to accept the truth and light inherent in this time of transitional change and in the recovery that follows. Part of the transitional change is moving out of reality with a little “r” into Reality with a capital “R”. The popular saying, "You make your own reality," means that you make what you believe to be real, yes, but that doesn't mean it is Reality. It has been instead, and as we have seen, largely illusion. Reality with a capital R, on the other hand, is composed of light and truth. There is no Reality without light and truth. Recovery from the rapid changes we are experiencing across the board, not just financially, “is not easy for many, but many transitions have been made to the best ability of those concerned by accepting the truth and light and Reality as it presents itself. Acceptance is the key in all matters at this time, at this juncture. There are many new roads ahead. The roads are lit, to guide you to enlightenment and peace. By accepting the new roads instead of fighting them, the result in the end will be joy.” Reading what Divine Mother says is not the same as experiencing the words from Her yourself, one on one, in Divine Meditation. The reason is that in Divine Meditation the words and images are imbued with light and truth, creating not only an experience, but a mind-changing experience. We can feel fearful, uneasy and upset about certain things going on around the globe or in our lives and we can be told by anyone in the outer world that everything will be all right - but not believe it, because the information is coming in on a rational/intellectual level where the ego can and will reject it. Our minds have not been changed at all. There still will be fear. But if we are told the same thing by Divine Mother in Divine Meditation and naturally experience the light and truth inherent in the words, we accept what She says because it is coming in on a very deep level...the level of truth and light. Our minds are changed, fear evaporates and peace takes its place. It is really that simple. January 2009 Times are difficult indeed, insurmountable for some, surmounted by others with regret, but that doesn’t have to be you. Even though there will be hardship until the end of 2009, the good news is that the illusions which have pervaded our lives and our country and our world are being profoundly uprooted and replaced with truth during this period. Life, right now, can be like walking into a long-abandoned garden and feeling overwhelmed by all the weeds. It can be daunting to ponder how much effort it will take to remove them, till the soil by hand, bring in manure, plant the lettuce and beans and daisies and roses, water weekly, and then wait for the plants to mature before even thinking of harvest. But if you dig in now, if you join in the energy that is already uprooting those weedy illusions, and give that energy a hand, it will lift you with it, you will be part of the change instead of its victim, you will feel infinitely better, and soon enough everything will be different…the landscape will not look as it did when you started, it will be rich with growth, abundant with fresh food ready to pick, the air sweet with the scent of roses and honeysuckle or whatever you have chosen to plant. This year will pass by regardless of what you do, the same months will be spent one way or another, so instead of despair, invest in making it a time of highest productivity. Do the spiritual work. Get into the internal garden of your own mind where weedy illusions have their origin. Let Divine Mother lend a hand in your efforts and remove illusions the easy way: with Her. Then rest secure in the certain knowledge that your future holds the beautifully altered landscape of your own life. November/December 2008 This is a time of monumental transition that, with wisdom and guidance, will lead to equally monumental transformation for good. That may be difficult to realize as we see systems and organizations groan under the heaving weight of change and lives altered for all manner of reasons, making stable ground feel suddenly like quicksand, but it is important to remember the truth--the old must pass away for the new to be born and it will be born--labor contractions cannot be stopped because they have come at an inconvenient time. They have come at the destined time. Destined the way spring follows winter, the way the harshest winter produces the most exquisite spring. But we must take care in this interim, in this pre-birth, pre-spring period, not only physically, emotionally and psychologically as we experience global or national shock waves or shudder in the wake of personal earthquakes, but care spiritually. We need to tend to the garden of our interior life now more than ever. If we have spiritual work that has been left undone, we need to complete it. If we haven't asked, we need to seek the correct guidance internally and follow it. If we have hesitated, we need to welcome the new with the knowledge that there is far less pain in accepting inevitable change than in struggling against it. As life attempts to right itself in order to point us in new directions, we can react or respond to the situations, conditions and problems around us. To react literally means "to act again," as in the now out-moded ways of old, but to respond literally means "to answer" and this period of time does require answers. Divine Mother knows the answers. She knows the conditions and problems, and She knows facts inherent in a situation we can't know, so it is more important than ever, personally and collectively, to rely on Her wisdom and reply to situations, conditions and problems with that wisdom. In times of turmoil, there is no comfort like a mother's arms and Divine Mother's arms will wrap you in love, hold you in peace, infuse you with calm and uplift you with genuine hope. In the worst of times, in the best of times, there is no safer place to be than with Divine Mother. To help you on your way, I have added more information under "Who She Is" if you would like to take a look.
